Studio one mastering pro#

The master fader is not a limiter preventing the signal from going over 0db, its just adjusting the level of the total signal. If I am at unity on the main, and I add eq on the insert, that could push the signal to clip. Any effect put on a track has potential to add gain to the signal, and has no bearing on where the master fader is.

Just trying to get my head around this as I am new to Studio One. If the master fader remains at zero, how would a limiter react differently if it was in the pre or post sections for example. Essentially nothing that can add gain or modify any audio parameter. Presently the only effects I put in the master section is a limiter (and the way I work it never goes into limiting, but put it there just as a safety valve), a Meter Plugs Dynameter, and iZoptope Insight. If you keep the master fader at zero dB, (and I always do since I am mastering several songs), then whatever plug-in you put in either pre or post-fader has the same effect.

I am trying to figure out the importance/use of the two sections for plugins on the master bus in the Project View of Studio One 3 Pro. Now, I know I can do this in regular 'Song' page in S1, but it seems little 'unsupported'(?) Like, don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of the 'Project' page in S1 especially when I'm just receiving from client tracks to master and not mix anymore on separate tracks, but I also really like the way it works especially when I'm mixing and mastering whole EP or Album and want to master everything in one session, which is great! BUT, is there a way to switch between mixing (song page) and mastering (project page) in real time without noticeable breaks?
